Ya Beaufort is a beautiful place, I worked on Pritchards Island just off of Fripp, I loved wandering the marshes and chilling on the docks during the day. I also know Toronto a little as I lived in Kitchener Waterloo for about 13 years. Small world :)

LOL Glad it is prehistoric. :) Estimates are it was between 50 and 80 feet long. A good size man standing up could fit into it's jaws. Yikes! It fed on whales so it had to be huge.

Hi Lisa, the tooth is from the Carcharodon megalodon shark. They swam the waters millions of years ago. About the only thing found of their existance are these huge teeth. LOL I guess you would say it is fossilized yet the actual tooth part feels pretty much like a tooth one might take off a shark today. It is very smooth with many extremely sharp serations along the edge. As big as this one is... it is by no means the biggest that are found from these massive extinct sharks.

Since 2001, SharkDefense has been working on a chemical shark repellent. According to Herrmann, he and Stroud were playing around with powerful rare-earth magnets in 2005, when he dropped one next to their shark research tank in Oak Ridge, New Jersey. The lemon and nurse sharks inside instantly darted to the op
